Indonesia, Kerinci
Grown in the lush highlands surrounding Gunung Tujuh in Kerinci, Sumatra, this coffee features the unique Sigararutang variety processed using the traditional natural method. Cultivated in fertile volcanic soil and nourished by the cool mountain climate, the cherries develop exceptional sweetness and depth of flavor before being carefully handpicked at peak ripeness.
With the natural process, the coffee cherries are dried slowly with the fruit intact, allowing the beans to absorb rich sugars and fruit characteristics directly from the cherry. This creates a vibrant and expressive cup profile with notes of ripe berries, tropical fruits, and sweet stone fruit, complemented by a syrupy body and smooth mouthfeel. Gentle hints of cocoa and brown sugar emerge as the cup cools, adding warmth and balance to its bright fruity character.
The result is a clean yet juicy coffee with layered sweetness, soft acidity, and a lingering finish that highlights the distinct terroir of Kerinci. This lot beautifully represents the harmony between the Sigararutang variety and the natural process, delivering a flavorful and aromatic experience for both filter and espresso brewing.
